2017 Wolf Trap Opera Program

CLIENT:
WOLF TRAP OPERA COMPANY

PROJECT:
2017 SEASON PROGRAM

DESCRIPTION:
After a game-time decision last year to commission a full-sized opera season program, this year the project was handed over to the in-house design team and fell into my hands. The direction grew from textures and icons I designed for each production, and I incorporated them with consistent, modern design language to showcase this year's productions. The full season handbook can be found on Wolf Trap Opera's homepage, http://opera.wolftrap.org/.

The 2017 design overlay with artful, brush-like textures.
The brush textures spills over the back to reveal the company logo and information.
First spread leads in with the Table of Contents, Season Calendar and Credits.
The spread and lead-in for Puccini's Tosca, showcasing inspiration for set design and production information. A base color of purple and a light blue compliment weaves the color scheme between the three main productions.
The spread and lead-in for Rossini's Touchstone (La Pietra Del Paragone), showcasing inspiration for set design and production information. A base color of blue and a light green compliment weaves the color scheme between the three main productions.
The spread and lead-in for a double bill, Bastianello and The Juniper Tree. The last of the three productions proved to be a challenge to keep consistent design language and treat the shows of the double-bill equally.
A graphic portrayal of stats and notes, one of many examples of information being incorporated with photos and columns.
More spreads showcasing textures, photos, and color treatments balanced neatly with production information.
